Natural Healthcare Products are under Attack in Canada and we need your help
The Liberals have proposed significant new fees on the import, manufacture, and sale of natural health products while simultaneously imposing new labelling laws that will massively increase the cost of all natural health care products.
These regulations are being applied to products Canadians use every day like protein powder, vitamins, and other supplements. These recently announced rules are set to come into effect on June 21, 2025.
Once the rules come into place, 70% of brands say they will have to pull products from the market and 1 in 5 brands are considering leaving Canada altogether. The existing rules on natural health products already keep Canadians safe. Canadians should have control over their own nutrition and what they put into their bodies. The government should be making it easier for Canadians to look after their own health and make their own health choices, not harder.
MP Blaine Calkins (Red Deer-Lacombe) joined me, in our riding, as we met with local merchants and listened to their concerns around providing health care products for their customers. Blaine has been traveling to the Island and the lower mainland seeking support for his bill.
